Ways to prevent work at home burnout
Work at home burnout, everyone gets it
from time to time, but it is
preventable. By doing these four things
you can decrease your chances of getting
tired of working at home.
1. Set actual work hours. Decide what
hours you are going to work each day and
stick to it as much as possible. This
way you know when you should start and
when its ok to stop and you won’t be
tempted to over work or neglect your
work.
2. Keep a calendar. Place your
deadlines and appointments on your
calendar in clear view. Each day look
over your work at home calendar and see
what you need to have done for the next
day. This way you won’t have stressed
caused by things you forgot to do or
appointments you missed.
3. Make “to do” lists for each day.
Then as you get them done, check them
off the list. Anything you don’t get
done transfer to the next days list.
This will help you to stay organized and
on task.
4. Take weekends off! Just because
your work at home doesn’t mean you have
to work weekends. On Friday closed down
your office and don’t think about
anything work wise until Monday. Don’t
take work phone calls or answer work
emails until Monday unless absolutely
necessary.
5. If you feel work at home burnout
coming on, take a break! Take a day off
and go somewhere fun with your family,
or spend some time alone. This will help
you be able to come back to work and
feel good about it.
